Our Dear President & Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley

I cannot even express they way I feel about this amazing man. I love him and miss him. But I could not be happier now that he is reunited with his sweetheart. We had the opportunity to go to President Hinckley's viewing at the conference center. We stood in line and waited for over 3 hours Friday night. It was well worth it... Our sweet Prophet was in the Hall of the Prophets on the top floor looking out to the Salt Lake Temple. The spirit was strong and amazing, I have never felt anything like it. He was like a grandfather figure to so many of us. I'll never forget his sweet, humble smile!

Just some FUN pictures....

Our cute nephew Kyson...
And of course our beautiful 91 year old Grandma Flora!

Vegas w/the Fam!

Well, we just got back from another fun family trip to Las Vegas! Casey, Marla and the boys met up with us from California and we stayed at the Planet Hollywood Hotel. We went to the Miss America pageant to support Miss Utah, Jill Stevens. She made it to the top 16 and should have won the whole thing. She was the only "REAL" person and has such a fun personality. Anyway, we'll have to admit, the pageant was pretty entertaining! Those girls are HILARIOUS! We also went to the Danny Gans show... AMAZING! He imitates different celebrities from Frank Sinatra to James Blunt to Dr. Evil! haha You would ALL love it! Another fun thing we did was the BODY Exhibit! It was pretty amazing to see the insides of our bodies. I couldn't believe what goes on inside of us! WOW! Anyway, here are a few pictures from our fun trip!

Christmas and New Years

Christmas was a blast... it was our first Christmas as husband & wife, and our 4th Christmas together!! We tried to save as much as we could because we are both in school full time, however, we seemed to spend a lot more than we should have!! ha ha... I'm sure I will say that same thing every year!! We had our own little Christmas together before we headed back to Bountiful to spend time with our families. It was a great Christmas. Santa was gracious!!

New Years was a lot of fun as well. We went down to St. George with some good friends and family. First Night in St. George was awesome! They had a band from Vegas who impersonated country singers, like Willie Nielson! We went to Vegas New Years day and did some MORE shopping and of course hit up the old Cheesecake Factory.

Thanksgiving in Mexico

WE had the awesome opportunity to go to a little place called Zihuatanejo Mexico. I bought the airline ticket before Steph and I were married in hopes that I wouldn't end up canceling the ticket!! What can I say? I am a man of faith! ha ha.. We stayed in a villa called "Villa De La Roca." That means Villa of the Rock. This place was literally built on a beautiful cliff overlooking the bay. It was amazing. Thanksgiving dinner was very original. We had Mexican pizza. It was good, but I'm not going to lie, I missed the traditional feast! We had a great time with the Stringham side including cousins and grandparents.

The Wedding

Well, we got married on August 8th, 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. It was the most amazing day ever! It started in the morning at the Salt Lake Temple. This was the most memorable experience of our lives. There was an amazing and unexplainable spirit with us as we sealed our new family for all eternity. After the temple we took a BILLION pictures and had just enough time to hit up Cafe Rio for a quick salad and burrito. That lasted about 20 minutes. We had to hurry back to the Grand America to get ready for our reception. We took MORE pictures, then proceeded to the party. Pictures don't even do this night justice. It was incredible, to say the least. After a full night of dancing our faces off, we made our way to the limo and off to the Grand Summit Hotel in Park City to kick off the Honeymoon. This day could not have been anymore perfect. I felt like we were in a movie!!

The following day, we went to our cousin Ben Dickamore's wedding. YES... while we were on our honeymoon, and YES I spent the evening with my father in law the day after our "wedding night." He couldn't stop giving me "the look." ha ha...

Finally we made our way to Cancun. We stayed at the GR Solaris. We basically spent all of our time at the pool or the white sand beach sipping virgin margaritas. We had a great time and got out of dodge just before the hurricane hit.

Our Story

Once upon a time... There was a little boy named Colby, he went to a birthday party and met a little girl named Stephy. They became friends in the 3rd grade, but throughout the years they realized they had a crush on each other! So... finally in their senior year at BHS they decided to give the dating thing a try! After graduation, Colby was called to serve an LDS mission in Auckland, New Zealand. Steph stayed home busy dating, dancing and going to school! When Colb got home from serving the Lord, they decided to take a little break and figure some schtuff out... After about a year of whatever, they found themselves back together again! ha ha! So we got hitched on August 8th, 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple...
We are currently living in Orem. Steph goes to school at UVSC in the Elementary Ed Program and working as a leasing agent at Parkway Crossing. Colby is at Weber State University and will be graduating in April with a BA Degree in Sales. He was given an offer to work at Merrill Lynch and will begin in April.... YAY! Married life is the BEST!
